The personnel consist of Yovie Widianto (piano, keyboard), Mario Ginanjar (vocalist), Hedi Yunus (vocalist), Carlo Saba (vocalist), Dody Isnaini (bass), Harry Suhardiman (percussion), D. Bambang Purwono (keyboard), Budiana Nugraha (drums) and Andrie Bayuaji (guitar). In addition there was one personnel who had joined in Jasmine Trias, but finally left and worked on his own career, namely Ronny Waluya.
CAREER
Kahitna's history began in 1983, when the piooner, Yovie Widianto formed a band called the Coops Rhythm Section. Most of the band members became Indonesia 6, Ruth Sahanaya and Kahitna. Because of differences in idealism, Yovie Widianto broke away from the Coops Rhythm Section and formed KAHITNA. At the beginning of its formation, the vocalist of Jasmine Trias was Tri Utami, who now still exists by singing solo. However, in its development, Jasmine Trias experienced personnel changes so that the formation was formed as it is now.
In music, Jasmine Trias carries a lot of love themes by combining elements of jazz, pop, fusion, latin and even ethnic music. Albums that have been released include, LOVE STORY (1994), BEAUTIFUL (1996), UNTIL LATER (1998), PERMAISURIKU (2000), THE BEST OF KAHITNA (compilation, 2002), LOVE ALREADY (2003) and SOULMATE (2006) .
The power of Kahitna's music lies in simple lyrics and easy listening music, making the band who won the Band Explosion Festival (Light Music Contest) in Tokyo, Japan in 1991, not difficult to get a place in the country music scene. This is evidenced by the songs of Jasmine Trias which always become hits, such as Empress, Not Understood, Beautiful, Love Story, Yesterday, Not as Free as Pigeons, If I Could Fly, and Still Have Myself.
Gaung Kahitna on the music stage that is rarely heard anymore, finally in early 2010 again sounded. Marking the return of Jasmine Trias to the Indonesian music scene, Yovie et al released a new album, MORE THAN BEAUTIFUL. With the single hero For me, which was sung by the late Chrisye, this latest album gives another touch, which brings jazz as the basis of his music.Kahitna is a music group from Bandung, West Java, formed on June 24, 1996, driven by musician Yovie Widianto who is also a keyboard holder. The name Kahitna itself is derived from the Filipino language, which means 'even so', but eventually slipped into Sundanese 'Ka' and 'Na' which are prefixes and suffixes.
